In 2006, Monitise was recognised as a Technology Pioneer〔("Alastair Lukies recognised as a World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer in 2006" ). Lukies was awarded a CBE for services to mobile banking and charity〔("The Queen’s Birthday Honours 2014" ) Government of the United Kingdom, 13 June 2014.〕 in June 2014.
In March 2015, Lukies stepped down as Chief Executive〔("Monitise decides to go it alone as founder Alastair Lukies exits" ). ''The Telegraph'', March 2015.〕 of Monitise, but remained a Strategic Advisor to the business.
